In June of 2013, I began writing, designing and publishing a newsletter featuring topics of interest to those who are seeking to lose weight. This newsletter has been a great tool for me to research, write and stay focused on my journey.
Here is the very first newsletter I sent out. I started very simple with a single page in 8 1/2 x 11 format. With pictures, tips, progress reports and a short informational item. The header was text with a small picture. Eventually I changed up the header and made the type smaller. See picture 2. You can double click on any image to enlarge it.
The next big change for the newsletter was to have a graphic based header instead of text and a reduced number of memes in the newsletter. I kept playing with the header and found an image I really liked to replace the scale. I also removed the Progress Reports (now called Weight Loss Stars) and send them with the newsletter but not as a part of the newsletter and began using photographs as a background.
One of the latest changes I made was to move to a legal sized page with more information for the reader to access and fewer memes. The October 14th issue shows the latest version of the format, minus the banding at the top and bottom of the page.
